二、同是MBS，价差凭什么这么大
MBS的价格差，主要藏在四个地方。
第一，丁二烯含量不同。低丁二烯便宜，高丁二烯贵。丁二烯含量越高，抗冲性越好，但透明度略降。
第二，抗冲等级不同。通用级便宜，高抗冲级贵。高抗冲需要特殊核壳结构，价格更高。
第三，透明等级不同。通用级便宜，高透明级贵。高透明需要特殊粒径控制，价格更高。

第一，看抗冲强度和透光率不看牌号。同一个牌号不同批次性能可能波动，拿到料先测抗冲强度和透光率，和COA对得上再用。别听销售说"差不多"，差不多就是差很多。
第二，警惕以次充好。有些贸易商拿ABS当MBS卖，拿低丁二烯当高丁二烯卖。要COA、要丁二烯含量检测、要原厂包装，三证合一才敢用。
第三，别只比单价，算综合成本。A料单价18块，做出来制品次品率5%；B料单价28块，次品率1%。算到每件制品上，B料反而更便宜。

Quotes range from CNY 18/kg to CNY 45/kg. MBS (methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene copolymer), a core-shell toughening agent, is not one material: general, high-impact, high-transparency, heat-resistant and toughening grades each carry a different price.
MBS offers high transparency and high impact resistance, and is used in PVC toughening, transparent products, electronics, packaging and film.

Imported MBS (overseas majors)

Four factors: (1) Butadiene content — higher butadiene means better impact but slightly lower transparency, and costs more. (2) Impact grade — high impact needs a special core-shell structure. (3) Transparency grade — high transparency needs precise particle-size control. (4) Brand and origin — imports cost 30-50% more for the same grade, paying for quality control and R&D.
3. Procurement pitfalls
The cheapest material often fails on impact or transparency, causing returns. Three traps to avoid:
First, test impact strength and light transmittance against the COA instead of trusting the grade name. Second, watch for substitution: some traders sell ABS as MBS or low-butadiene as high-butadiene; demand the COA, a butadiene-content test and original packaging. Third, calculate total cost: A at CNY 18/kg with a 5% defect rate vs. B at CNY 28/kg with 1% — B is cheaper per part.
4. Standard grades not enough? Consider modified compounds
If you need high impact AND high transparency, heat resistance AND high flow — you need modified MBS.
