CPE的价格差,主要藏在四个地方。

第一,看氯含量和门尼粘度不看牌号。同一个牌号不同批次性能可能波动,拿到料先测氯含量和门尼粘度,和COA对得上再用。别听销售说"差不多",差不多就是差很多。
第二,警惕以次充好。有些贸易商拿低氯含量当高氯含量卖,拿回收料当新料卖。要COA、要检测报告、要原厂包装,三证合一才敢用。
第三,别只比单价,算综合成本。A料单价8块,做出来次品率5%;B料单价12块,次品率1%。算到每件制品上,B料反而更便宜。

A quick search shows quotes ranging from CNY 8/kg to CNY 18/kg — a spread wider than the chlorine content itself. Some buyers say the CNY 8 Yaxing 135A works fine; others insist only the CNY 18 Dow CPE counts as stable. Where does the difference really lie?
Honestly, anyone asking "how much is CPE per kilo" probably has not yet understood that CPE is not a single material — 135A type, 140B type, 6000 type, 3000 type and injection grades each carry a different price. Comparing a 135A quote with a 6000-type one is not price comparison; it is how you get fooled.
1. Mainstream grade quotes (imported + domestic)

Weifang Yaxing (Chinese major)

2. Why do CPE prices differ so much
The CPE price gap mainly hides in four factors.
First, chlorine content. Around 30% chlorine gives good elasticity; around 40% gives good flame retardancy. Chlorine content determines both performance and application — and price.
Second, residual crystallinity. The lower the residual crystallinity, the better the elasticity and the higher the price. Type 135A has a residual crystallinity of 0.05%, making it a high-performance toughening agent.
Third, Mooney viscosity. Mooney viscosity determines processability: high viscosity suits extrusion, low viscosity suits injection molding. Different viscosity, different price.
Fourth, brand and origin. Imports carry a premium but offer batch stability; domestic grades offer value but uneven quality. For the same 135A, Dow costs 50-100% more than Yaxing — you pay for quality control and R&D.
3. Procurement pitfalls: don't let the chlorine content fool you
I have seen too many buyers end up choosing the cheapest CNY 8 material after endless price comparison, only to have parts fail on toughening and chlorine content, trigger customer returns — one loss enough to buy half a year of good material.
Procurement of CPE is deeper water than you think. Three traps must be avoided:
First, test chlorine content and Mooney viscosity instead of trusting the grade name. Performance of the same grade can fluctuate between batches. Test against the COA before use. Don't listen to salespeople saying "close enough" — close enough is far apart.
Second, watch out for substitution fraud. Some traders sell low-chlorine as high-chlorine, or recycled as virgin. Demand the COA, a test report and original packaging. Only accept material with all three.
Third, don't compare unit price alone — calculate total cost. Material A at CNY 8/kg yields a 5% defect rate; material B at CNY 12/kg yields 1%. Per finished part, B is actually cheaper.
4. Standard grades not enough? Consider modified compounds
If standard grades always fall short — you need flame retardancy AND high elasticity, oil resistance AND weatherability, or low cost AND high performance — the problem is not CPE itself; you don't need standard CPE, you need modified CPE.
